ADVANCED COMMERCIAL MEDIATION TRAINING

The next Advanced Commercial Mediation Training will take place

online from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM EST

on May 2, 3, 9, and 10, 2024.

This Part 146 approved 16-hour course will cover special considerations

for mediating commercial disputes.

Registration is limited to 8 people.

This training is approved under Part 146 by the New York State Unified Court System’s Office of ADR Program and satisfies Part 146 requirements, with at least 24 hours of initial mediation training. Placement on any court roster is at the discretion of the local Administrative Judge and participation in a course that is approved does not guarantee placement on a local court roster. Some courts may require additional training and experience.  Acceptance on court rosters may depend on a court’s need for mediators at any given time and may include a particular court’s need for mediators with specific case-type training or experience.

This training begins with an exploration of the special considerations for mediators to appreciate when engaged in commercial disputes.  Classes include an in-depth analysis of the impact that commercial practice has on the manner in which a mediator should prepare for and facilitate negotiations of these cases.  Participants will engage in several mediation simulations, discussions and exercises to help build up an appreciation for the role of the commercial mediator.
